I have just downloaded autocad 2011 and I am trying to find the ribbon panel that activates the detail component manager. When I type it in at the command line I can only use it once, afterword I get *cancel* at the end of the script. This shuts down the command. To use Detail Component Manager again I have to turn AutoCAD off and reopen for desktop.

I think you're using Autocad Architecture, not plain Autocad. There is no detail component manager in plain Autocad.

Does this happen in all drawings or just in one specific file?
Is anyone else in your office experiencing this?
Have you tried running a repair?
Have you contacted Autodesk?

You said you downloaded the program, so I assume you downloaded it from the subscription center, or this is the trial version, correct? This isn't some hacked copy you got from a torrent site is it?

Sounds accusing doesn't it?

I didn't accuse anyone of anything. I asked a simple question which an equally simple "yes" or "no" answer would clear up. If the software is hacked, there is a good possibility that there could be corruption in the files which could be causing the problem that the OP is referring to.

On the other hand, if the software was downloaded from the subscription center, or if it was the downloaded trial version, perhaps some files got corrupted during the transfer. If that's the case, maybe a simple re-download and re-install or repair would fix the problem.

So you see, there are very good reasons why I asked that question. There was no malicious intent or accusation of any kind. Just trying to get all the information.

Thank you for your concern though, and have a sparkling day. Wink
