Subject: Text changes alignment & other text problems

I am currently using AutoCAD LT 2008 and when I enter text on my drawing, I use a center alignment.  After emailing the dwg to my clients, the text alignment changes or becomes completely different, while the text style stays the same.  One client, using AutoCAD LT 2007, the alignment changes to a right alignment.  These drawings are very detailed and it would be too much trouble to go through and change them all back to center alignment.  My other client is still using 2000!!! I can't convince here to get a new version, and her text boxes change completely so that all the text ends up in a single verticle line, and some text boxes won't let her edit the text at all.  Both clients have the font styles being used installed on their programs, so I know that is not the issue.  I've never run into this before and it's becoming a real headache.  I have also installed any and all service packs or patches that apply and have them doing the same as well, but so far, nothing is working.  Please HELP!!!

Is this plain Text, Mtext or Attributes?
And what do you mean by "Text Boxes"?

mtext...

i think i solved the issue with text realigning on the 2007 version, but on the 2000, some text boxes allow editing and don't change but others do.  Here is what the error is that the client gets.  the mtext editor cannot read the widths (of the text box). to keep the original text width click ok...then it changes all the text to a single verticle line and won't allow her to edit.  however on other text boxes, it's fine...

My first guess would be a compatibility issue. Maybe Autocad 2000 doesn't understand the text formatting coming from your newer version?

Why don't you just send your clients pdf's? We never send our CAD files to clients, unless it's written into the contract. And even then, we put a disclaimer on the drawings stating that we won't be held liable for any changes made to the drawings after they leave our office.

Thank you for your response, but I don't think it's a compatibility issue because some areas of text is the problem while others work just fine.  It's very inconsistant.

As for sending the drawings.  I send them as dwgs because they aren't end user clients, they are clients that I do drafting for, but that still need access incase they need to make small changes before a meeting with the end user.  I am basically doing the same work I would if I were employed by these companies, but I do it from home as freelance.
