I am currently running Inventor suite 2008 on a system with XP x64 on it and I am have a few problems.  It also neeeds to be said that I am not a newbie to using ACAD or Inventor, but with that said... the last versions I was using was 2000i LT and Inventor 5.... So I am making a huge jump in technology as far as the software goes so I might as well be a newbie to drafting.

With all that said...you may have guessed, I have a few questions.

1) How come when I use the standard "Open", "Save", or "Save As" commands in either ACAD 2008, ACAD MECH, or ACAD MDT it keeps wanting me to type in the full path to and does not allow me to pick like you normally would do in a Windows environment.  However, if I go through "Vault" it opens and saves files normally.

What gives????

Can you see the file dialogs? Is it not the typical FILEDIA problem?

I finally got an answer back from Autodesk..

You need to type the following in command line

"filedia" and the setting should be "1"
