There are all sorts of bollards, which is basically a post in the ground. You could use a fence post detail and cut it off 42" or so above the ground.

In plan view use an open or a filled circle, pretty simple.

Depending on purpose, bollard can be 4" to 12" diameter, wood (square in section) or steel (sometimes concrete filled), set 3 feet to 4 feet in the ground, sometimes surrounded in concrete 18" in diameter or so. Extends 3 feet to 4 feet above ground.

If needs to be highly visible, paint "safety yellow".

I agree with Carl. There are lots of types of bollards. I gathered lots of blocks of bollards on http://www.kantengineering.com/Autocadblocks.com" rel="nofollow - http://www.kantengineering.com/Autocadblocks.com . Now I am trying to do the same on my English site http://www.acad-blocks.com" rel="nofollow - http://www.acad-blocks.com , but that is a bit harder.

I added some blocks of bollards on my website http://www.acad-blocks.com" rel="nofollow - http://www.acad-blocks.com . If you need other blocks just fill in the request form on the same site.
