The draftpersons before me who worked at my company messed up the U.C.S. in a few site plans and I want to know how to fix.
(Problem)-When I enter model space, the cross-hairs are rotated, but the UCS is normal(x=0,y=90) My guess is that the person changed the UCS so that when they use the rectangle command, it will be on the same plane as another object, or property line.
I try changing my UCS to world view, but this does nothing, probably b/c the UCS is already normal.
How do I get the UCS and the Cross-hairs back to normal
(x=0,y=90)???
I only use 2D.

Check the snapang?
Because snap style is Isometric.

i checked the snapping. its currently off but set to rectangular snap. I encounted another site plan, in this case, the snapping is even off in paper space, usually its off only in model space. any idea?

There is a display setting that will rotate the WCS to match any rotation in a view. This allows as you said, to be in WCS but have the axis rotated on the screen. Try this:
type in : ucsman
go to the settings tab:
at the bottom of the window, turn on the "UPDATE VIEW TO PLAN WHEN UCS IS CHANGED" options. Click OK
type in: PLAN
select the WORLD option
the screen should rotate back. Now unless you go back in the UCSMAN, your screen will rotate with your ucs rotation. So you might want to go back and turn the display setting off.

Ok, UCSMAN I believe is the answer, but my problem isin't solved yet. When I type ucsman, goto settings, click the update view box,typing plan won't work b/c i guess my viewport is locked. When I unlock the viewport, then double click inside to type plan, as soon as i click inside it zooms out. I typed plan and it still didnt rotate my cross-hairs back to north and south.
I think your advice is a step in the right direction tho, b/c other figures within the drawing are normal, (cross-hairs are north and south) which leads me to believe it has something to do with the viewports.
I will go over your steps a few more times, try some new things and get back to you...

Still didn't resolve the problem. It's not a big deal, it's just annoying. When I follow those steps, and type plan, it zooms out and the cross hairs don't change. The particular drawing I'm working with, the cross-hairs are off angle in the paper space also, so I'm thinking ucsman won't resolve the issue. (you have to be in model space). I wish I can post a screen shot.

Hold on. I figured it out.... The first response was close. I typed snap. In my version of cad(2007 registered) the following options come up(on/off/aspect/style/type).
I typed rotate, even tho it wasn't one of the options, then it asks you for a base point, I just typed 0,0. Then it asks you for rotation, I typed 90 and that solved the problem.....
