Subject: 2011 Install problems

Computer and OS: Acer Notebook, 1.66 GHz, 160 GB, WIN7, 32 bit

I have tried twice to install AutoCAD 2011 and AutoCAD 2011 LT from two different Tutorial DVD's included with the AutoCAD 2011 Bible.  The error message that I received from BOTH installations was "corrupt file... try to download from... AutoDESK..."

Okay then, I have tried twice to install from the installation file downloaded from AutoDESK.  When I get to the very end of the installation process (2 hours later), I get to page four of the confirmation and the "next" box is grayed out and my only choice is to click the "back" button.  I can not complete the installation unless I can click "next" and move forward but something isn't right on this page.

This is very frustrating.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Running Autocad on a Notebook is not really recommended, since the system specs are generally not sufficient to support the program: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=13784795" rel="nofollow - Minimum System Requirements

The message during installation did not say exactly which file(s) was corrupted.

I have only 1 GB Ram.

I was eventually able to get AutoCAD 2011 installed but it was only after several attempts, three different tactics, and several hours of trying.  It should not be that hard.

Did you read the minimum system requirements for 2011 that I linked you to in my previous post? You need a minimum of 2GB RAM, not 1GB. What about the other requirements? I'm guessing your Notebook probably does not meet the required processor spec either? That's why I said Notebook's are not recommended for installing and running Autocad.

I don't know how you got it installed, but good luck trying to run it without it crashing constantly.
