Hi,

Lesson learned--never let people mess with your UI.

I keep trying to load a UI that I've had for years but it doesnt seem to mend any of my problems--- one big pain in the butt being:

When i try to erase
cross selection window>e>space
it wont let me
i can only erase whith e>space>cross selection window>space

a selection box pops up every time i hover over lines that are in my aperture box asking which i want to select

cross selection windows are acting strange--- essentially selections are off. I've reset the UI, reset the profiles, tried (but failed) to import a profile i set up on another computer... nada

i'm all about speed and keyboard commands when i draft--so this is KILLING me.

and ideas would be AMAZING!
Thank you!!!

I think this is one of the system variable problem.
Try to type PICKFIRST then enter. If you see the value currently 0, change it to 1.
I suggest you to backup all system variables and restore it later when you have problem.

This is a common problem, I don't know how, but mostly caused by some poor written routines.

The variable editor is quite usefull but not undocumented/hidden - it is documented in the Help and available in AutoCAD menu/ribbon.

See http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/tips.asp?t=undocumented - http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/tips.asp?t=undocumented  for a number of undocumented or underdocumented command and options in AutoCAD.
