Hello everyone!

I just got my self the Autocad architecture software. I usually take great pride in learning to use different softwares fast with trial and error and some tutorials, but this time it seems I have reached a dead end.

I have searced the web for tutorials and help, but nowhere i can find a simple step by step istruction on how to get started. How to draw a simple space, texturize it and render it. Does anyone know if there is such a tutorial or is there anyone there, who can help me get started.

And a little warning before you read on, these questions propably sound really silly to an experiensed user.

I have gotten as far as drawing a space with the help of the ready elements. Is it important to use the templates here. If I opened a ready template, i could only draw lines, not use the ready components, such as walls and doors. So i just didnt use a template, does this give me grief later?

Texturizing is the real problem. How can I aply a render material to a wall for example? And what is hatching? do I need it to make realistic renders and can it be used when using these components. I thied to hatch a component, but it said it cant find a needed border area.

Thanks a million for the help
Pete
