When I send drawings to my HP Officjet printer, I notice all horizontal lines are not printed true and straight. On a standard 8.5 x 11 paper, the lines jump up a small value every 3/4 of an inch or so. At first I thought it must be the printer, so I went in to Adobe Illustrator and drew out a few horizontal lines at different points. When printed, they all come out perfect. This leads me to believe it is something technical in AutoCAD's set-up. Any help? Thanks.

Here are a few things I can think of that you might want to verify prior to drawing the line:

SNAPANG = 0
ORTHO (F8) = ON
DDVPOINT = Set to Plan View

Does the line appear to be horizontal on your screen? In other words, do you see that small jump on the screen?

Have you tried printing to another printer (even to PDF) to see if it happens on other printers/plotters?

Usually, if not always, ORTHO is on when I'm drawing a vertical or horizontal line. SNAPANG has always been '0' as far as I know, and I'm not familiar with DDVPOINT.

The lines are showing straight on my monitor, in the modeling space and layout. I'm shown that the lines are a complete 180 degrees from point A to B. Everything looks perfect until printed.

That's when I thought it must be the printer, but straight lines from Illustrator show up fine.
