Hi, this may be simple for some but its not working for me.

I drew a  pan that I have as an .iam that consists of about 6 parts, I need to make another pan just like it but need to make it deeper, which requires me to edit some of those parts.

My problem is editing those parts in the copy without it changing the orginal shallow version.

I've made a copy of the .iam file and saved it to a completely different location, and saved as a different name. All while having nothing open in inventor. But it still is changing the orginal. Maybe it has something to do with the parts having the same name as the orginal?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Did you make copies of all the parts you needed to change?

In order for this to work you either need to make each part you need to change an iPart or you need to do a "Save Copy As" for each part you need to change with a different part #.

iParts let you have one file with several varieties of the part in one file.
