does anybody know why the cursor would just all of a sudden dissappear when not moving? it fixed itself after we restarted the computer, but i am very curious why it happened to my co-worker.

It the change immediate or does it happen after, say, 5 seconds?
I'm not aware of any AutoCAD settings or system variables that control this type of functionality. There is, however, a setting in your Mouse Properties that can be set to "Hide pointer while typing". Could that be the culprit?
