Hey everyone, I was hoping for some help: I have some 2D floor plans and mechanical PDFs that I need to convert to DWGs so I can edit them. Is there a reliable PDF - to - DWG converter out there that works? Thanks!!! |

there are many tools, but the truth is that, if the pdf is just an image, nothing will help you to get dwg that you could edit (unless u will use some superproffesional software). If the pdf was created from autocad, it is a different story. I tried progecad (trial version) and this software is able to convert this kind of pdf to dwg pretty well. (progecad is simmilar to autocad, but autocad doesn't have this function). that is my experience.

I'll download the progecad and see if it can convert it. yes, these PDF's were made from an Autocad dwg. Thanks! |

If the drawings were originally done in AutoCAD ask the person who did them to email you a copy and save the headaches of trying to convert the PDFs. No, I work at a college and a lot of our old digital plans are all PDFs. I am trying to start a project and getting these PDFs into DWGs will reduce my project time immensely! |

| one more thing that might help. As the origin of the PDF is from Autocad, if u r using latest autocad, u can insert the pdf into model space and u'll have the option of snapping, so that u can easy trace the pdf if needed. |

Use PDFATTACH. Then use the SCALE command and the REFERENCE option. Basically trace the drawing over. Cost? Your time and whatever you bill at. Result?
