Subject: Tool palette dont inherit descriptions of layers

HI,
Currently I am trying to customize my AC MEP 2009 by making some tool palettes. Unfortunatelly it seems that objects drawn with tool palette (f.e. "line") inherit all of the properties in source drawing apart from descriptions of object's layer. So for instance when I draw a line using my tool palette which in source drawing has name "CA_LI" and description "carbon line" than in my drawing name of layer is OK but description of layer changes into "CA_LI"

Does anybody has the same problem or know how to fix it?

Yes. I believe that is a built in feature; although I'm not sure why.

I use the tool palettes for many blocks that I've created/modified and I usually have to explode them if I want to modify them further.

What you might think about doing is creating a single file to house those items you include on the tool palette. This way, you can go in to add/edit/delete multiples to fit your current projects.

Good Luck!!

I dont really understand. I have done as You said: all lines or objects that I use in tool palette is of course stored in one source drawing on the server - this is the only proper way  I know. When I want to change sth than I change it in source drawing - this is sure.

Everything works fine apart from that damn descriptions of layers - it is very annoying, because I have made beautifull layers standards with descriptions and now I cannot use it.
