What were you attempting to do when the error occurred?

You could try running the RECOVER command on the drawing if that exists in AutoCAD 2004.

Internal error when opening drawing

Issue

When you open a drawing, an AutoCAD Error Aborting dialog box is displayed with the following error:

Internal Error: !dbspace.cpp@1954: eUnknownHandle

AutoCAD then exits without prompting you to save the drawing.

Solution

To resolve this problem, use the RECOVER function to audit and fix errors in the drawing that causes the error. AutoCAD will fix the problems with the drawing. You can then save the drawing and edit it without errors.
