Found the registry update fix for this pit.config error but I'm still getting the  error and I've updated the registry/ saved to my desktop.
Any ideas? who else is having this problem?

What is a pit.config error?  Are you talking about a plot or plotter configuration error?

What version of AutoCAD are you running?

When does the problem occur?

We need a lot more detail than what you have provided so far.

Sorry. I'm a CAD student at the local community college. My brother and I have just built a computer specificly to run CAD and REVIT. My OS is Windows XP 64bit professional and I'm trying to install AutoCAD 2011. I've got my product key and serial number but every time I open the program to try to install, I get an error. this occurs at the EULA page and after I enter my serial number and product code. pit.config not found has something to do with registry update? I've found a "fix" in another cad forum (autodesk) and I was told that I needed to update the registry. I've completed the regedit and I'm still getting the pit.config is not found error.
thanks for any help you may offer.

No, John, he's correct.

Z Scapes, I'm assuming you've followed the instructions at the link below?

I thought "pit" was a typo for "plt".  My bad.

I checked out the link too.  It all seems pretty straight forward.

Still having a problem even after editing the Registry?  Well that's not good.

Yes, I've completed that registry update successfully and I now have the back up registry on my desktop but I'm still getting the error code at the EULA page everytime I open the program. I'm still trying to install the program and haven't made it past the EULA page.
I'm wondering if I'm suposed to manually cange the registry value stated in the link? I wouldn't think so but as I stated I'm a student and I really am just beggining my CAD training.

They way I understand it is that the user manually changes the setting.  What did you do that was different?

I "run" the "regedit" just as described in the forum but I never found where I should change a value? Quote from forum:

We fixed it by doing the following Registry change

Changed the value to 00000001 from 00000000

The instructions stated that once completed I should have a desktop icon for backup registry and not to double click that file.
After reading the instructions again, I think all I've done is to back up the registry file and I haven't edited the value listed above. any idea where I need to change that value? Am I on the right track?

Z Scapes, my suggestion (since you followed the directions and they did not work), is to contact Autodesk support and have them walk you through the fix. If it doesn't work for them, then they will work with you until they figure out why that isn't working on your system.

EDIT: The registry key location is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD LT 2011 - English]

You should then find the value: "Eula"=dword:00000001

Good Luck!!

Thank you, waiting for a reply in Autodesk forums.
I did find the EULA value and changed it:
00000001

Still the same error.

Ok. Stupid question, but did you reboot your system after you changed the value?
