Hi,

New to the site. I searched for answers but did not find anything helpful. Now I'm here.

Is there a way to optimize the way AutoCAD 2010 handles large PDFs. My system just bogs down to a craw when using scanned PDFs that consume memory. Maybe there is a setting that will speed the process of pan and zoom to a more manageable level.

Thanks

The graphics card (faster, with more VRAM) may help to some level. Otherwise you might use a lower dpi for your scanned PDFs.

I don't think I need a new card, because I use Bluebleam to edit and use pdfs and it’s all good. Seriously Bluebeam is so much better at rendering the same file than AutoCAD2010.
I'm hoping there’s a way to tell CAD10 through a system variable to only render the file after I'm done panning/zooming. Thus increasing productivity at work

You can disable automatic regeneration with the REGENAUTO command.
On - Regenerates the drawing immediately if any suppressed regenerations exist in the queue and continues to regenerate automatically whenever you perform an action that requires regeneration.
Off - Inhibits regeneration of the drawing until you use the REGEN or REGENALL command.
