I am using AutoCad2010. Somehow I inadvertently did something that makes dropdown info transparent; for instance, if I use the “measure” command the window that opens with the “distances” is so transparent that depending on what’s on the plan background it’s almost impossible to read. How do I get rid of the transparency?

got to options>display>

click on the colors box which brings up the "drawing window colors display". in the "interface element" list there is a header called "drafting tool tip background"

either change this to white or a colour that suites your 2d model space colour.

if this fails try a restore classic colors

hope that helps

Thank you RMCGARRIE. I tried both of your suggestions but it did not change the transparency of the drop-down menu. Is ther another solution?

Is there any chance it might be a graphics-related problem?  Did you have a recent change of drivers?
