I'm finishing my bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering and I'm working on my bachelor assignment. It's a concrete storage and office building. My group has decided that a 3D model will be a big part of the final paper and presentation. I have some Revit Structure experience.
My question is: Can you make a great 3D presentation with Revit alone? Or will I need 3ds Max as well? I have some experience with that software as well. Will I need to learn advanced rendering like mental ray and such?
Are there any great blogs/sites where you can learn Revit and how to make 3D presentations? Or DVDs for that matter?
I appreciate any help!:-)

Revit itself can do 3D renderings and simple walkthrough/flyby animations. Its rendering setups are quite simple so you don't to go deep into raytracing and mental ray settings (see Revit help). For more advance animations you may want to use 3ds Max.
