Hello everyone here,
 
                           I hve an excell sheet and apply a formula.Although I solve it by putting that formula in every cell but the basic formula is same only only one cell is  changeable.If someone like to tell me that how could
it be work if put once in the sheet it will not be repeat again and again.........thanks.....I can send the file if someone like it..Cry

Wouldn't you have to somehow reference the cell that contains the formula?

thank u John connor.I have a sheet Cell A4 to a24 =Chainage,CellB4 to B24 to be input,C4 have a formula C4=(B4-D4)*10+D4,and D4=Datum level a constant.If u send your email I will send u the same file.My email is (aarifmahmood@hotmail.com)

Do an Internet search on the following.  Type it exactly as shown.

"excel use formula from another cell"

I think the function you are looking for is:

=GetFormula(A1)

Where (A1) is the cell the formula is located in.

You can have your spreadsheet checked at any Excel Help forum.  I do not, as a habit, post my email address, except on rare occasions and usually only to review AutoCAD drawing files.  Sorry.

OK thank u for deep intrest.I hve solve my problem by applying  the same formula independantly on each cell....thats all..

C4=(B4-$D$4)*10+$D$4
 
that's your answer. To lock the cell of one of the formula's entities, you need the dollar signs. if you put the cursor in the D4 text and press F4 key, then it will put the dollar $igns in for you automatically, fyi...

Thank you germanbery for sugession and i have also tried my best and find solution.Actullay i wanna going to fix D4 by applying $ sign.Anyway thanks again.
