What do you mean when you say you want to be one sided? Are you saying that you want your texture to appear on only one face of the object? You said you created a rectangle, but I'm assuming you mean you created a rectangular box, correct?

Try this. Create a plane. Right click on the plane and select object property's In the display property's dialog box check see through. I believe it will be visible from one direction only.

The site may have been having difficulty when you tried going there. Try it again, it works for me.
Or just Google "3DS Max Multi Sub Object tutorial". There are lots of them out there.

First of all, you need to start a new thread when you have a question. It's not polite to hijack someone else's thread to ask your own questions.
So, you want a website that will teach you Studio Max from A to Z? Sorry, not gonna happen. Max is a very large and complex program. If you want to learn then you need to get a book, buy training DVD's, take a class or find a personal tutor. Or do all of the above.
