Does any one know how I would go about doing this
some one told me that revit imports the files but not sure if the normal Auto CAD Program I have will let me bring it in.

Approach the problem from the other side. That's only if you have Sketchup Pro. Im going to see in what formats it lets me export.
maybe there is one type that Cad lets import
But thats 2 conversions
