Hi!

I have downloaded an assembly of a flange engine that contains of 225 parts.

Is there any way I can create one solid part of this assembly or make the assembly file smaller?

I have tried using derived component, but all I get is the surface of the component and it`s not getting much smaller.

I`m using Inventor 2008.

Can someone help me?

Thanks!

Tor Chr.

You can use the pack and go (rightmouse click a the .iam in explorer and select pack and go) this will only take hold of the parts USED in the assembly.
To create one solid part  you can open a new .itp and click derived component, then select the assembly, this will bring in an assembly as a single part, (also used as a trick to do FEA on assemblys)
