Is there a way to import excell 2007 into acad 2006?
i can cut and paste, but it brings the table as an object.

what i am trying to replicate is the way it used to work between excell 2003 and autocad 2004.  (the excell info came is as dtext cad text entities)

I could more easily manipulate them because they were just cad text. And the text was formatted and aligned just like the spreadsheet.

I really don't want a linked spreadsheet or an mtext version I have to explode and format manually.

Thanks
Chris-

Can't do a Datalink in 2006 as that feature was introduced in 2008.

You can either bring it in as an OLE object or use some third-party software to manipulate it.  See: http://www.dotsoft.com/xl2cad.htm

thanks,
I was hoping to find a workaround or a FREE LISP that would bring in the spread sheet as formatted simple text.

Yes, everyone wants something for nothing.

Take a look at this...Point Manager.

Simple copy-paste (Paste as AutoCAD entities) should work. In newer AutoCAD versions, it brings the table as a TABLE object (AutoCAD table, not OLE table) but you can Explode it to simple entities.
