Having problems with my AutoCad 2008LT.
Under options I specify to save every 10 minutes... but it doesn't.
It saves an automatic Bak file, but unable to open it, even when I change the extension to .dwg.
Could it be that I need to alter other Options. Any help greatly appreciated.
Mike

AutoCAD and "saved" files.  Read this.

Apologies for my lack of knowledge.. What I really require to do is activate automatic save files .sv$, for having set these saves at 10 minute intervals they don't appear anywhere or should I be looking in another file or do I require to set one up.
Having lost some items of work recently it is frustrating to have to redo the work.

You might want to check the path to where your autosave files are being directed to.  Do this through OPTIONS.

One thing you may not realize is that the automatic save is not a replacement for normal manual saving that you should be doing regularly. The autosave file only exists if your computer has crashed. When you exit Autocad normally, the autosave file is deleted. So, if you lost work due to a crash, your autosave file should be available, but if you lost work because you accidentally deleted something, there will be no autosave file to go back to.
