Hello,

I am a very new user of Inventor with a very newbie question.

So I made a part in inventor and used the AEC exchange to "Save As DWG Solids". When I open the newly formed drawing in Autocad through Insert, I find the thread I had added to the part was missing along with the text I placed near the holes I had put it. So now I am wondering if I don't quite understand what "Save As DWG Solids" entails. Does it mean it only imports blocks of objects, like extruded sketches and the like and doesn't tolerate text and threads? Or is there something I should be doing to make sure the thread and text I see forming in the model in Inventor shows up in Autocad?

Many Thanks for any direction,

Hoi,

When you place a thread with Inventor, it is not a real thing.
You can try to do: save a copy as .sat
Then you can import it in an .dwg
I think it wil have the same result as you had before. (no thread import )
If you realy make the thread,
( using " Coil " see:Visual Syllabus - Parts - Sketched Features )
it wil be imported.Big%20smile

Danny
