cable and harness - spliced wires

I created a harness with 128 wires and 30 or so splices.
after creating a segment to route the wires i used the "route all wires" button to insert the wires into the segment, but, the spliced wires did not "auto-route" and i was un-able to manually add them.
Can someone tell me what i am doing wrong? Are there known issues with this type of operation?
