Hello everybody, great to have a job again and be back! I need to know what the 'code' or 'process' is to install a tab system to quickly flick between open dwgs WITHOUT using the windows or minimizing the drawings....or that 'quick access' BS in 2010... Had a guy do this for me at my last job...but of course you do it once, then forget LOL All help or suggestions would be appreciated! |

Here is a link to a free utility which does what I think you are looking for. Its basically a career change. At Tulip Labs and the others, I was a mechanical designer, using Inventor to make 3D assemblies and the like. Autocad was mainly to lay out machinist prints and the like.. This job is an electrical design job...2D flatness, in all its splendor. Electrical design was always viewed by me as the red headed step child of manufacturing LOL I kinda miss Inventor...for now at least. |

Are you using AutoCAD Electrical or are you doing this entirely in vanilla AutoCAD?

actually its mechanical desktop...ahh the irony LOL And I think you hit the nail on the head with that utility...gonna email a friend and double check with IT before I download it. |

Yes. But look at the bright side, it's never too crowded. Kind of like going to the mall on Super Bowl Sunday (while 90% of America is watching football) during a blizzard. LOL
