I am trying to set a profile up so that it has all the default layers that I normally work with as well as the dimension styles that I have set up and different text sizes. This would really save me a lot of work rather then going through and setting it up differently for each drawing have a list of defaults to choose from. Any help would be appreciated. |

First, and foremost, it's not a "profile" you're after, it's a drawing template. A DWT file.
Start a new drawing. Include all of the text, dimension, mleader, and table styles you normally use. Add in all the layers you want as standard, along with their colors and linetypes and weights. If you want a title block or several on layout tabs make them too. Basically build your entire drawing... the one you want to always start from... and then Save As a DWT.
Over time return to it and make corrections and/or additions as you need to. If you want to always start new drawings using this template, set it up as your QNEW in Options > Files.

I agree with heinsite. You need to create a custom template. Re: Profiles. A Profile holds settings for user preferred options such as: Support file search paths User preferences like right-click customizations User selection options such as pick box and grip sizes Interface elements like drop-down menus, toolbars, palettes, etc. Profiles store the drawing environment settings (i.e. - what you see on your screen).
