Hi,
I don't use the apparent intersection command normally, so I just noticed it's not working.
I did a fresh install of AC 2005, not adding or importing any custom settings and still it does not work.
I found advice online to make sure acad.mnl is loaded, and this is what I still get after even manually doing so:
Command: (load "acad.mnl")
AutoCAD menu utilities loaded.
Command: _appint Unknown command "APPINT". Press F1 for help.
2004 and 2010 are loaded on the same machine and they come up with the same problem!!!
I have some 3D wireframe models to prepare to load into a structural analysis program, and apparent intersection seems to be the only way to do the work I need to in 3D.
Any help appreciated!!!

APPINT is not a valid command, but you can set a running apparent intersection osnap from the task bar object snap settings dialog, or by setting the OSMODE system variable = 2048. Try this last idea first on your drawing by itself and see if it works. Then check the Object Snaps settings dialog and look for it there.

APPINT is a command MODIFIER meaning you must use it while in a command (ex. - such as the LINE command) you can't just type APPINT as AutoCAD does not recognize it as a standalone command. You can also use APP, again, as a command MODIFIER, to invoke the Apparent Intersection osnap.

Wow, it appears I had a case of wishful thinking. I've used it as a running snap function, and that's why I never invoked the command.
Perhaps I should start a new thread for what I'm trying to do. I want to be able to trim to a line that is on another elevation.... trim to the apparent intersection looking from, say, the right view.
THANKS for ending my wild goose chase, at lest this aspect of it!

So you are working in 3D?
AutoCAD 2004 I see. You might just have to copy a line up to the correct elevation and use it to trim your other line.
