When I attach an xref, I can barely see it in the dwg file! Is there a setting, etc. that will give it the visibility quality of a normal drawing or block - I don't have time to redefine floor plan blocks everytime I edit - need to be able to see the attached xref. Anyone help me w/ this issue?

Have you checked VISRETAIN?

If that is not what you are after then go to Options > Display > Fade Control Xref Display (it is in the lower right hand corner of the tab).  It controls the intensity of an Xref fade.  The slider changes the number in the box next to it.

Yes, visretain is set to retain any & all revisions. Actually the setting for my question is XDWGFADECTL - its default on 90 & should be reset to 25 to 50

Cary, in West Virginia actioned the correct answer - he's quite up to speed on AutoCad 2012 settings!

Thanks big time for your reply & time.
