Hey everybody, long time out cause my company utilized China-style internet suppression after somebody visited a porno site  LOL
So anyways...Have you noticed how when you open a drawing, in the dialog box, 'LIST' style...there are four columns always present:
Name
Type
Size
Date Modified
Or any combination of a bunch...but thats typical. Is there a way, ala windows system setting, to permanently suppress the 'type' and 'size' columns???
I see no reason for viewing these, and its frusterating to have to suppress them every day...

Terminator!! yo man!! Its windows XP, 64 bit SP2...
And heinsite...that works but only for the day. Once I restart, autocad re-sets everything to default...

Nevermind. I found it. There are several ways to select what appears in a Details view. One way is to select “Choose Details” in the View menu. The dialog box that opens has check-off boxes for 28 different entries. Pick and choose what you want to display. thanks John man... I tried the 'TWEAKUI' command, but it wasnt recognized but Acad...
And the other method you describe is for windows operating system...or windows explorer...got that already set up..but Acad is a different animal it seems...
Hey Vlad the friendly moderator, have any suggestions? Or am I just plain SOL??

I'm an idiot. I thought we were talking about Explorer not AutoCAD. TWEAKUI was a utility program for tweaking Windows settings and had nothing to do with AutoCAD. Guess I'll go sit in the corner with the Dunce cap on for the next 30 minutes. When I'm done with my penance I'll see if I can come up with an answer to your problem as it regards AutoCAD but something tells me I might not be so lucky.

Okay, now I'm shooting from the hip because I haven't actually tried this yet (a little buzy with alligators this morning), but the next thing I'd verify is that this can be saved with a customized workspace. After you tried resetting the headers did you also re-save your workspace?
Try that, exit, and restart AutoCAD and see if the new header settings have been retained.

HMMMM...resave the workspace...that seems logical. I'll give that a try.
And alligators?? Good god man, the things a man must go through to put in an honest days work! LOL
