I have window vista home premeum. I installed printer hp deskjet 1280 which is printing all documents except autocad. I am using autocad 2008.
Is there a solution to this problem.

Main problem is that your printer (most of printers are Deskjet, not Designjet) is not created for CAD programs.

Peripherals working in CAD need a specific standard protocol, HPGL/HPRTL to comunicate;
and you can emulate it only if your printer uses PCL5 or higher language(yours has PCL3).

When and if you can obtain something from them, under that situation, it's only a very luky combination of circumstances: http://www.plotterdriver.it/_english/winline_drivers_english.htm#Other - printer firmware, Opertive System and CAD output must in someway understand each other (they are three persons, each speaking a different language; if they know perfectly vocabulary, grammar and syntax it ěs OK, otherwise it's like you go in an Italian restaurant and order a grilled CARPA (that is a river fish) and they serve you a grilled SCARPA (that is a grilled shoe!).

But if you change something in your CAD system (new patch, an update for example) you might lose your compatibility.
Or you have a http://www.plotterdriver.it/_english/what_is_a_driver.htm - driver that is capable to speak the specific language of THAT printer: in our list there are some deskjet supported, but not yours.

Please, feel free to contact us for more informations and if you need to know more.

Regards.
