Do I look happy to be there or what?

I am not a runner. I am just a good employee. That's why I participated in the J.P.Morgan Chase Corporate challenge on Wednesday night. Recall that I get so little exercise that I decided to convert my office layout.

That's right. I am so out of shape that I consider standing as a form of exercise. So why did I do this? Well during the 2011 J.P.Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge Series, the foundation donated more than $600,000 to not-for-profit organizations throughout the cities where the races were held. I was happy to be a part of Autodesk's contribution to this program. Actually we were part of the largest field in the 28-year history of the San Francisco Corporate Challenge — a capacity crowd of 10,000 participants from 367 companies.

The impetus for my stand-up desk was that my FitBit pedometer showed that I hardly ever get 10,000 steps in a day - the goal for active, healthy people. My run/walk of the 3.5 mile course plus walking to/from the event (from work) did get me almost 20,000 steps out of the deal.
