What would cause a viewport frame to display?

Does anyone know what would cause a viewport frame to display on one computer and not another?  My co-worker is seeing viewport borders in a drawing that I don't.  We don't want to be able to see them and there is something about his setup that is displaying them.  Any direction would be greatly appreciated.  We're running AutoCAD Mechanical 2011.

Viewport settings are saved with the drawing aren't they?  I don't think they are saved in the Registry.

Whether or not you see them is immaterial.  What you really don't want to "see" is that they print.  So go to your layer properties manager and set the layer that your viewports are on to "no print".

Hello, I hope it's not this :
MAXACTVP : (64) and not (1) ( MAXimum ACTive View Port ).
Check also if the viewports are Active in the properties ( CTRL + 1 ).
Please let us know how you have fixed your problem.

Are we talking about a viewport that does not display its contents?

The default setting for MAXACTVP is 16.  What is your setting?  How many viewports are currently being used in the drawing?

We are talking about viewports that display the border even though they shouldn't (from what we can tell).  John Connor is correct in that it is largely immaterial, but our CAD standard dictates that they are also not visible.  On most computers they are not, but on one station they are displaying.
