When I imprint an object on a 3D surface in realistic visual style, it leaves a streaked appearance. Ie, the background shows through. And it's not just an artifact on the screen, it shows in print also.

The 3D object is many feet thick and the imprinted object sometimes has no thickness (ie is at the same elevation as the 3D surface) and other time has minimal thickness just to make sure the 3D surface is intersected.

Why is this happening and how do I get it to not streak? TIA
