Hi all,

I am new on this forum and use inventor 2011 for 6 months now Smile

The problem I have concerns the interference analysis tool.

Indeed, when I run this tools, it indicate for each area with screw in a thread that there is interference seeing the diameter of screw (Ø6mm for example with M6 screw) is higher than internal diameter of thread (about 5mm).

Is there a mean to avoid this ? Inventor know that the external diameter of my thread hole is 6mm so how could I configure the interference tool ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Best regards,
lp

Hey, I come back because I was lucky founding a parameter very interesting when looking for adjusting general tolerances.

I get inventor translated in french so maybe in english is not exacly the same "name" that i describe.

In "Tools -> Options -> Document parameters" go to modelization and you will see an option for "Thread hole diameter" that should be set by default to "Small".

This explain for example that my M4 threaded holes is measured at 3.3mm on the 3D model part.

If we modify this modelization threaded hole diameter to "BIG", then we would measure 4mm on the 3D model part and running interference tool --->>> no more problem with a M4 screw inside Big smile

Beware however, this is not perfect ! Indeed, if you keep this parameter value at "big", the part drawing (idw) will not show you the good thread symbol anymore ARRGGHHH Angry

So, I have to do this only when wanted to run the interference analysis ; but it is a solution that work Smile.
And comme back to "small" when checking is finished in order to have our drawings good.

Hope this will help other people.

PS : if you someone find a solution to keep both the parameter at "big" and have thread symbols on drawings, this would be very nice.
