AutoCAD 2004

I have a linetype in a drawing which is a dashed line: 4 metres long with a 2 metres gap.

____  ____  ____  etc

The objects are to linetype scale 1.0 so in modelspace they are dashed, 4m long with 2m gap.

In paperspace I have a 1:500 viewport but the objects are printing out as 2m long with 1m gap (ie they should be twice as long). Everything else is to the correct scale.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this?

Also LTSCALE is set to 1.0.
