You can simply select and manipulate the grouped entities together. Just something between the individual objects and a block.

It's similiar using a blocks, but simpliest.

I didn't really ever use the grouping commands until I started my job, and now I spend most of my time converting Miscrosoft Visio files to CAD drawings. I have to go back through them, and group and un-group all the objects so that they snap together exactly.

It's a very helpful tool when you have hundreds of terminal block boxes that Visio didn't place directly on top of one another.

A group is a saved set of objects that you can select and edit together or separately as needed. Groups provide an easy way to combine drawing elements that you need to manipulate as a unit.
