MyCadSite.com and cadtutor.net are two such sites. Autocad is a huge application.There are many online resources to get some basic concepts for free like www(dot)we-r-here(dot)com etc.But if you are really interested go for a professional course. Thanks.

I agree they are just a small introduction into the 2D world. New users should experiment with every single command found on the Home tab of the Ribbon in the Drafting and Annotation workspace. There's another topic one should become familiar with - "How to change Workspaces". And while we're at it let's include a discussion on "Options" too. Oh, and don't forget the QAT. In a viewport in a Layout (otherwise known as Paper Space) to change the scale you need to select (click on) the viewport object. Once you have it selected the Scale option will show up on the Status Bar. This is when you can change the scale. You will also notice a little padlock icon to the left of the Scale area. If the padlock is Blue the viewport is unlocked. If you click on it the color will change to yellow and the viewport will be locked. At this point you will not be able to change the scale again until you unlock it. But locking a viewport, once you have set the scale, is VERY important! You can still enter the model through a locked viewport, and panning and zooming will not change the scale. Many users, myself included, spend a lot of time working on the model thru a locked viewport on a Layout tab. Dave ------------- Dave Hein, P.E. You can change the scale of a paper space viewport via the Properties palette too. Another option would be to activate the Viewports toolbar and dock it anywhere on your screen that is convenient.
