I am using ADT 2010 and hatches have disappeared as well as background masks don't mask either.  This seems to be drawing related.  Anyone have any idea why?

Did you check for layers that are off or frozen?

Are xrefs being used?

All layers are turned on.  I can see a frame around the hatches and around where the background mask should be (if I use a color for the background mask it will show up as a frame around the text).  I think a command did this as it showed up after working on the drawing a while.  If I start a new drawing the hatches and background mask work as they should.

You may have to issue a REGEN command too after turning FILL on.

Are you sure all your geometry has a "Z" of "0"?

Only a moderator or owner of the site can help you.  Us mere mortals are powerless.

Thank you for that but unfortunately he does not have any email addresses available to contact? I really am sorry for this but I can't see any other way to start a new thread for some advice other than to ask for help on this thread here? Please help me if any moderators are reading this?

Did you try going to a forum and clicking on the New Topic button?

I really don't understand how this site functions day to day.  There appears to be only one moderator and no way to PM him.  Sorry about that.  In the meantime...

What do you need help with?

Hi there, apologies for the delay in replying. I managed to email that mod via his website and he has sent me a link to post a new thread so I will try it shortly. Hopefully my thread will explain the help I need. Basically I am about to start a CAD course in college and I want to know what I can do to help me prepare. I am keen to learn!!
Thank you for your help John.

It depends on the program you'll be learning.  Want to give us a hint?

Are you planning on obtaining some sort of engineering degree in the process?

For those having the "disappearing" hatches problem... are you working in 2D or 3D?

The mention of FILL somehow "solving" the problem suggests 3D.
