how ?

when i try to plot a layout the "shade plot" in the "shaded viewport options" is inoperative
in  the plot dialogue box.

when i try the same in model space (not a layout) i may choose conceptual or realistic from
the "shade plot" tab.

First you assign a visual style to your viewport THEN you plot.
