there's presumably some setting I haven't discovered to get the linetype scale to adjust itself automatically as the viewport scale changes. At the moment I'm having to use REGENALL. Thanks John

Set PSLTSCALE=1, MSLTSCALE=1 and LTSCALE=0.5 and see what happens.

Do you have REGENAUTO=1?

By the way, this setting is *not* saved in the Registry!  It is saved with a drawing.  So you may need to double check your template(s) if it's happening over and over.

Thanks for trying Gents. I've checked Regenauto, Psltscale, msltscale and ltscale and all are set to 1. No difference - can anyone think of anything else?? - John

What is the setting for CANNOSCALE?  Does it match your viewport scale?

Cannoscale and pressing enter says Enter new value for CANNOSCALE, or . for none <"1:1">: and this is not the scale of the viewport
What does cannoscale do? What should it be set to so that it updates the linetype automatically?
thanks for help - JOhn

I think I got sidetracked by that one.  Never mind.  Sorry about that.

CANNOSCALE is simply the scale setting you have in Model Space.  I don't see that one as a factor here.  I am surprised however that REGENAUTO didn't solve things for you.  That makes diagnosing this a little more difficult.
