| HOw do I change the size (scale of a drawing). I have tried resetting or selecting different settings and each time the dimensions remain the same. Am i misunderstanding the dimension / scale function. I am trying to draw a bookshelf that is 59" wide by 96" tall |

You should not be scaling anything. You really should be drawing everything full size no matter how small or large the object. Hi , If you want to change scale of Drawing then go to Sheet, on your left side you will see 'Properties' pallet if not visible then go to Tools > Properties on main menu. In 'Misc' section you will see xn move mouse cursor there to see tool tip as 'Custom scale' or search another icon as xn and you can change drawing scale by using Standard scale format. Above procedure is to change scale of drawing. Now, as I can understand from your post as you wanted to change Scale of entities not a Scale of Drawing am i right? if you wanted to change dimension and entity size by scale then type in Command line as 'SCALE' and select both entity (bookshelf) and dimension and scale as per you want with scale factor in command line. I would recommend against scaling your model space object (bookshelf) or your dimensions. That is so old school it is laughable. My advice would be to draw your geometry in model space where it belongs then switch to your sheet, create a viewport, and place all your text and dimensions in your sheet. It is the viewport that gets a scale assigned to it not the objects back in model space. To repeat...draw all your model space objects FULL size don't scale them as you would if drawing on a drafting board. ------------- "Humans have a strength that cannot be measured.
