Thanks for all your help.

Spacing between lines or between characters?

And just to be clear, you are talking about DText not MText right?

This thread addresses both.

Re: DText/line spacing

There is no system variable for this. The line spacing is hardcoded into
the font definition (.shp) file.

Right Jhon, I'm talking about DText.

The space that I need change is between characters.

Thanks

That's called kerning.

In typography, kerning (less commonly mortising) is the process of adjusting the spacing between characters in a proportional font.

There is no way to do that in DText.

"AutoCAD 2012 (and higher) supports TrueType as well as its proprietary SHX fonts, and offers kerning control in multiline text objects. Kerning enables you to adjust the distance between characters in a range of text, tightening or loosening them to enhance readability or fit.

AutoDesk provides 15 formatting codes to control paragraph attributes including color, text height, character width, typeface, alignment and obliquing. Among these codes, the "\T" option controls character spacing, allowing you to apply kerning ranging from 0.75 to 4 times the default letter spacing."
