Hi There,

I've been looking lately at buying a mobile workstation, this would be my first ever "serious" CAD dedicated system.

I will mostly use the machine to make models in sketchup and I hope sometime soon to also get Autodesk Inventor.

I have to admit that I am completely inexperienced in this, but after some internet research I have come to the following conclusions:

1. I will need at least 8GB of RAM.
2. I will need a decent GPU (my current macbook pro with Nvidia Geforce 256Mb sometimes takes more than 4 hours to process some of my commands).
3. It is recommended to get an i7 CPU capable of running at 3GHz.

Looking  at the machines available online I have come up with 3 possible candidates:

1. Dell precision M3800.
2. MSI GT60-0NF.
3. hp zbook 15.

Of all of these the Dell seem to stand out in 2 main aspects:

1. It is the lightest.
2. It is the cheapest.

Personally I think I'd rather go with the MSI but I couldn't find them in the UK...

Would appreciate any feedback or if someone has any hands on experience with any of these? Anyone knows where I can get the MSI workstation in the UK?

Thanks,
Haim.
