Q - question

How to import a Word document into AutoCAD and keep it linked (like xref)?

A - answer You can use OLE objects for this. In AutoCAD, use the INSERTOBJ command, choose "From file", pick your .DOC (.XLS, etc.) file and check the "Link" option, end the dialog by OK. Right-click on the inserted OLE object to set its properties (scale, display quality, etc.) Any subsequent change in the .DOC file will reflect (on DWG reopen) in AutoCAD.

Please note that AutoCAD versions up to 2004 have some issues with exact placement, fonts and plot quality of OLE objects embedded in a drawing.
