To generate a sequence of numbers (with a specified starting number and an increment) you can use the TCOUNT Express Tool, manually entered table expressions or - for an automated function - you can use the free NumTab tool by CAD Studio (see Download).
NumTab creates and populates a calculated table (introduced in AutoCAD 2006) with fields (cells) specifying the incrementing numbers. You can define any expression as the increment (+1, *2, -3; arithmetic and geometric sequences). If you later change the starting number (or a number in a middle of the sequence), the rest of the sequence is automatically recalculated. You can edit the number array together, as table.
You can create tables of type:

When you change "5" to "8" in:

the table updates automatically to:
