This problem has happened to 2 different AutoCAD 2014 users in our office at separate times.

The problem is if I have objects selected then right click and copy or copy with base point I have re-select the objects. This just started about a week ago, but it is NOT PICKFIRST (it is set to 1) I also tried PICKAUTO and PICKADD. I have the same results if I use Ctrl+c or Shift+Ctrl+c.

Also, if I first select the object and then type _copyclip or _copybase I do not have to re-select the objects... it works like it used to. I have read many forums but have found nothing with the same exact problem.

I restarted with out and .lsp routines thinking that may be the problem and no help.

I have not had any AutoCAD updates or windows updates recently.

I know I can just select the objects in a different order but after years of doing it one way I am hoping to keep things the way they were.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone might have with the problem.

First I would download and install any service packs.  Then test.  Report back with the results.  We'll wait.

Thank you for your reply.

I am using the latest SP, I double checked that hoping it would fix any problems.

Does the problem happen in one specific drawing or in any drawing you are working on?

Unfortunately it happens in all drawings.

Also, just being curious I made new shortcut in my .lsp for copy with a base point and it works the way Shift+Ctrl+C or right click and copy with base point used to work. This problem is very frustrating.

Were the drawings worked on at some point using AutoCAD 2007?

Does the problem occur when you start a new drawing?

I just created a new drawing and sadly is still happens and as far as AutoCAD we have 2014 and 2015 in the office.

I just checked on a few other machines (using both 2014 and 2015) and they are not experiencing this issue. Only my machine and 1 other (both using 2014).

I suppose you could always try a REPAIR of the installation.  Note: A REPAIR is NOT the same as an uninstall / reinstall.

John,

Thank you for your help, I ended up doing a "Reset Settings to Default".
This worked and now I am in the process of putting thing back to how I Like them.

Thanks again for your time.

I always forget about that option.  Darn.

Good to hear it worked.
