Hi... every time I try to open an Auto Cad file send by a customer I get prompted to open a Shape File. I'm trying to open on Auto Sketch 10 because that's the  program that was given to me by my employer. any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Did you bother to ask your customer for the shape files?  Apparently he forgot to include them.

AutoSketch 10?  What dust bin did your boss dig that out of?  Didn't that get released back in 2008?  Dude, it's 2015!  AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT 2016 came out earlier this year.

I'm guessing your boss is a tightwad and the last thing he wants to spend his money on is something that would make you more productive.  Assuming that's the case tell him to go to the Dassault Systemes website, makers of Solidworks, and download the FREE 2D CAD program called Draftsight.  There is even a FREE how to get started guide.  The program is an AutoCAD-clone and it comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.  And did I forget to mention that it is FREE?
