I have a large facility dwg. that I have created over the last few years. It is in inches and now I need to send it across the pond and they want it in a metric format.
I am at a loss as how to do this.
I am sure this is not hard to change.
Any help?

1 inch = 25.4 millimeters.  Do the math then scale your drawing accordingly.

Set your UNITS first.

That is not the right command to use.  Actually it would be -DWGUNITS and pick option < 3 > for millimeters.  Accept the default values for everything AutoCAD asks after that and you'll end up with a perfectly scaled metric drawing.  A simple test will confirm the fact.  Start a new drawing using acad.dwt and draw a 10x10 inch box.  Then follow my previous advice.  When done the box should measure 254x254 millimeters.

Hello you can see the Tip N° 7103 here under that explains John's procedure and that also specifies that you should scale your entire file from the point 0,0 ( or 0,0,0 if done in 3D ).
